از فعل log on زمانی استفاده می کنیم که بخواهیم درباره وصل شدن به یک سرور یا پیوستن به یک چت روم یا سایت بازی صحبت کنیم:

Matt tried to log on to the company’s network, but couldn’t connect for some reasons
After logging on, I accessed the shared files from the client

از فعل log in زمانی استفاده می کنیم که بخواهیم درباره ورود و دسترسی به حساب های شخصی مانند ایمیل صحبت کنیم:

When a person signs in, they’re logging in
Please log in to your account to view your order history of books

 در این مثال از log in to استفاده شده است نه log into. اصولاً استفاده از log into صحیح نیست.

 مترادف های فعل log in افعال sign in, authenticate, access, enter هستند و مترادف های فعل log on افعال connect, access, sign on, join هستند.
